The latest developments in technology, that have increasingly shaped the UK coach and bus industry, will once again play a central role at Coach & Bus Live as they are showcased within the dedicated Technology Zone. The adoption of new technology – be it in improving the efficiency of vehicle operations or enhancing the passenger experience – has accelerated in recent years as operators seek new ways of attracting and retaining passengers, differentiating their product offer and reducing their cost base.
Targeted at a cross section of visitors from technology and operating based companies as well as local, transport and regulatory authorities, this dedicated feature area will highlight the different many ways technology can improve customer services. The Technology Zone will be of particular interest to those visitors who have buying responsibility or influence for business support systems and IT, ticketing and fare collection, scheduling and customer service plus passenger information and journey planning.
The Technology Zone will mirror current trends within the market place, in particular, the acceleration of new technologies. An increased demand for public transport has given rise to the need for systems capable of delivering high quality passenger transport information. Capturing this development, Technology Zone will showcase a whole range of travel information products and services now available from on-street electronic kiosks and real-time journey mapping to the very latest in mobile devices and backroom software.
As an additional attraction for this year’s visitors and as part of the overall Coach & Bus Live programme for 2011, we will be running daily technology focused presentations.
