VOSA pledges support for Coach & Bus Live
A key attraction for operators visiting this year’s Coach & Bus Live exhibition taking place in October at the NEC is the "Working Together" initiative, which amongst other things, will include a series of live show floor demonstrations to be presented by the Vehicle and Operator Service Agency (VOSA).
Branded "Workshop Live", the VOSA team will deliver six 15 to 20 minute practical presentations at one hour intervals throughout the course the show with vehicles as an integral part of their demonstrations. Show Director Mark Griffin and Barry Ricks, Head of Customer Guidance and Education at VOSA, have announced three separate presentations covering the following areas: - Basic errors in preparation for annual test
- Pre-use vehicle inspections
- In-use compliance
Mr Griffin is delighted that VOSA have agreed to participate at Coach & Bus Live and fulfill this important educational role. He believes that visitors will really benefit from attending the Workshop Live presentations and will leave the show armed with handy tips on how best to ensure compliance with the latest road traffic legislation and on how to maintain the roadworthiness of their vehicles.
Comments Mr Griffin: "Workshop Live is an exact embodiment of what this year’s show is all about. It is at times like this, when trading conditions are at their most challenging, we need to be offering as much help and support to operators as possible. The fact we are able, through our partnership with VOSA, to offer expert practical guidance on how to avoid unnecessary prohibitions and fixed penalties and keep operating costs to a minimum has to be of valuable assistance to our visitors."
This is a view shared by Mr Ricks who states: "We are only too pleased to be involved in this initiative. By providing hands-on advice, in what we hope will be a both informative and entertaining manner, we aim to highlight the most common compliance, inspection and annual test related issues and to help operators and drivers overcome them."
Concludes Mr Griffin: "As the industry’s main event of the year we are delighted that VOSA are using our show as an opportunity to engage with operators. It sends out a very positive message to the marketplace and I’m sure it will provide another compelling reason for people to come along and see for themselves what Coach & Bus Live has to offer."
