All vehicle sites now taken for Coach& Bus Live 2009

Coach and Bus Live are delighted to announce that exhibition space for this year’s show, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC and October 7 and 8, had broken the 100 barrier with 102 companies now taking part.

In announcing that all the major vehicle sites had been taken for 2009, Show Director Mark Griffin said “I believe this sends out a clear and positive message to the whole of the industry, not least that with 80% of space for the 2009 show taken exhibiting and visiting companies alike can plan ahead secure in the knowledge that this year’s show will definitely be going ahead. This year’s Show will include displays from many of the industry’s most prominent suppliers including: ADL Plaxton, MAN, Wrights, Volvo, Evobus, Optare, MCV, Moseley PCV, Dawson Rentals, BASE, Mistral and Arriva Bus and Coach.”

Griffin also pointed out “Whilst sales for Coach & Bus Live have held steady up till the end of February there has been a significant increase in the level of enquiries and bookings over the past month. I attribute this to the foresight of many suppliers who, despite the temptation to “keep a low profile” and avoid unnecessary promotional expenditure in these difficult economic times, are prepared to take exhibition space during 2009 in order to capitalise on the business opportunities that lie ahead in 2010 and beyond.

Recognising the commercial challenges faced at present by manufacturers and operators, the Show has unveiled a number of new initiatives for Coach & Bus Live designed to help them deal with these issues head on; falling under the umbrella brand “Working Together” these features are expressly aimed at encouraging incremental exhibitor participation as well as provide additional value for the show’s visitors.

Remarking on the “Working Together” initiative Ian Morgan, CPT President stated: “We fully appreciate just what an important role trade shows play in any marketplace, this year more than most. It is important therefore that suppliers and operators come together with confidence in order to demonstrate the true strength of our industry and to exploit the opportunities for their businesses in 2010 and beyond. CPT is fully committed to supporting our exhibitors this October and will ensure the success of the show through a series of specially designed features over the two days at the NEC.”

Foremost in the “Working Together” initiative will be a range of vehicle displays designed to promote the very best in coach and bus manufacturing.

Delighted by the  bold measures announced, Wright Group Managing Director Mark Nodder, comments: “We’re looking forward to taking part at the October show, it comes at a time when all manufacturers and suppliers are keen to look for new opportunities beyond this year.”

Other “Working Together” initiatives include “Workshop Live”, a two day advice centre run by industry specialists providing expert tips on how to run a coach or bus fleet more profitably and how to keep it up-to-date with the latest services available by key suppliers.”

Organisers believe it is precisely because of “Working Together” and other exciting features that will be introduced for the first time at Coach & Bus Live 2009 the show will attract in excess of 6,000 industry professionals from right across the UK over two days.
