Successful Launch to Coach & Bus Live 2009

The positive mood amongst suppliers in the industry was reinforced at the launch of Coach & Bus Live 2009 when over 60% of space was taken by almost 70 exhibitors. Next year’s show was launched a few weeks ago and the Organisers report very strong demand for the 2 day interactive format show.

Coach and Bus Live returns to the Birmingham NEC on 7th and 8th October 2009 and already has plenty of repeat business from companies taking part last time around.

The Organisers have made some improvements to the 2007 event with a dedicated Technology Zone, a Training & Development area and more mini/midi bus stands. The strong demand for companies wishing to exhibit mini and midi vehicles to potential buyers next autumn means that the Organisers will be offering those companies a cost effective solution for taking part in the what will be the main UK domestic trade show in the industry next October.

With only a few vehicles spaces still remaining visitors will be able see products from Alexander Dennis/Plaxton, Optare, MAN, BASE, Beaulas, Marco Polo, Irisbus, BMC, King Long, Moseley PCV, MCV, Dawson Rentals as well as plenty of mini and midi vehicle specialists.

Mark Griffin, Show Director explained “Our last Coach & Bus Live show was a real success. We’ve made a few tweaks but essentially it is a successful 2 day format. The interactive element will continue and we are very excited at being able to introduce more technology and training companies for the first time. We have been approached by mini and midi converters and suppliers asking if they can participate in our autumn showcase”

Amongst those companies displaying vehicles will be Esker , Bluebird , TAWE along with regular exhibitor Rescroft who will host a stand with other converters looking to participate now that the CTA show has changed dates to spring 2009.

One of the first companies eager to rebook space was South East Coachworks who attended in 2007 for the first time. Chris Bichard , Director commented “As a first time exhibitor in 2007 and having experienced a successful 2008 show we recognized that we should continue to have a good representation in the industry. At South East Coachworks we feel that Coach & Bus Live is the best platform to present our skills and trade in 2009. We find the 2 day interactive format a refreshing format and look forward to being at the show in October.”

As well as over 60% of space taken there was lots of interest from new companies at the stand at the NEC during Euro Bus Expo last month. A marketing campaign will kick off next spring with the aim of attracting 5-6,000 attendees and around 200 exhibitors over 2 days.

Griffin was keen to emphasise “We are delighted that so many companies have taken space already. The competitive nature of our industry means that companies are having to work even harder to win business. Exhibitions play a major part in that and we believe that participating in Coach & Bus Live 2009 can be done cost effectively and generate business for those who come along.

We have booked space in halls 17-19 again at the NEC which are excellent facilities and we’ve capped the size of the show again so as to protect the well established format which produced such positive feedback at the last outing. We are committed to providing a value for money format which is something which our customers have been keen for us to focus on for the last 5 years.

The alternating cycle with Euro Bus Expo is exactly what our customers asked for and , based on the fantastic response to our sales launch so far , is proving to be what the industry wants.  Companies need to control their marketing spend and show activities each year to suit their individual needs. Coach and Bus Live 2009 will enable them to do just that”

The organisers confirmed that the show will include new content for the key features Skills Test , Question Time , On The Sofa , Technology Zone and the Training and Development Zone.

Also co located alongside the two day show will be the routeone Operator Excellence Awards on Wednesday 7th October at the National Motorcycle Museum where over 600 industry professionals are expected to gather for another important networking event in the calendar.

Exhibitors who are yet to make a booking are urged to act quickly to avoid disappointment as the Organisers predict that the show will be another complete sell out.
